I wouldn't of gone without you mate. I'm not that way out. Besides I know its potential and if you put the effort in rather than thinking finds are gonna jump out at you then you might have a productive site.

It's a massive area I agree but I did ok in them few hours.
Saxon strap end, Sovereign penny, silver sixpence and a couple of other bits.
Plus been ploughed since so you never know what gems have been brought up.

Ambulance field is the one to keep on at as it just keeps giving

We didn’t get much time on the Ambulance field last year due to how he cropped it and it was surprisingly disappointing.
Probably just needs another turn over with the plough. I‘ve experienced that before, sometimes it needs turning over a couple of times for the good stuff to appear again. I’m hoping he over winters it this season.

I’ve got four hundred and forty acres literally on his doorstep but I asked last year if he could go on his own but it was a no.
They only allow me to detect their land as I’m a long term family friend.

Thanks Mal, I’ve subscribed to Archi for quite a few years now, so many that I’m still only paying about £15.00 and they’ve never tried to take more.
There was an Anglo Saxon Moot near it but unfortunately the actual Moot is now under the A1M.
We’ve detected right next to it and did get a couple of bits of Saxon off there.
My problem is most of my land is only available when in stubble so I tend to go to the fields nearest my home, the block near Wayne is about half an hour away and seeing as I tend to only go for three or four hours I go to closer permissions.

Yep they show a lot of info.
I did a talk few years back for our local U3a Archies and they rewarded me with access to their High Res imagery that they used in a new study they were undertaking for finding the Hill Forts on the ridge where my permissions are..
This resolution is absolutely amazing as they use the highest res possible and only available to authorised users in the Archie community.
Seeing my sites in absolute stunning detail especially the Saxon moated house on my Vicarage farm Estate plus many other features that I did not know were there till I was given access.

Like you Bob I have been with Archie since the first day Chris Kuttler created his web site and only pay the £15 annually, Chris has sent me many reference free gifts of Tithe Maps he is a great guy.

I can't get on with the S stem on the Deus so stick with something that works for me

If your happy with the Nox get another Wayne if they wasn't so poorly made i would get one myself i am a member on the Nox groups and i see nothing but trouble with them on a daily basis,

I must admit the S stem is a bit uncomfortable my thumb knuckle rubs on the remote its created a lump i keep meaning to order a longer middle stem to raise the remote up above my hand,

They are options for the deus with a straight shaft a few companies do them Anderson for one, but why would anyone want to buy a new machine then have to spend money on a new shaft ? sorry i forgot about the Nox for a minute i guess you will be used to buying a extra shaft and a coil stiffener

I see it on the groups as well. I did replace the original stem on the Nox but didn't have coil issues even using the 15 inch 99% of the time. I did look at the Deus straight shaft and people say that the control box attachment area was rushed and it doesn't seat correctly.
I will see what I end up with after a bit more thought mate.

Nothing wrong with how it seats Wayne maybe user error clipping it in is the issue, i did break one clip again user error the macine fell of the spade ive never had issues apart from that one time you know how often i detect and its taken off every night to recharge,

Most of the issues was the magnetic clip in the first models i must admit that was a bad idea and used to fall off i had nothing but trouble with it same as others.

The quality of the fitting was a after thought apparently and the angle is wrong for user input.
