Only been out a couple of times Bri, nothing worth posting unless u want to see my scrap. Busy with work trying to make a living. Busy helping my mam who's 79 downgrade from a 5 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom house, years of stuff to sort out. I know Stes still recovering from effects of long covid and is busy with other things. I don't think Wayne has a detector at the minute. Danny I've never spoke to in nearly 4 years. Maize runner no idea other than he's not been out in a while. Keith busier than when he was working, don't think he's been out in ages A forum is only as good as it members, if there don't want to post we can't make them. But if we put a post up saying dig a week on Sunday near York you'd have 60+ names in no time, everyone would come out of the woodwork.

Fair do,s mark everbody has other things to do family come first, but as i said whots going to happen to the forum after september when fee,s are due im not having a go at any mods or admin but would just as others might do wondering whot the future is and if anything can be done to keep it going i know other forums are in same boat as other members have told me nobody is posting, im on the facebook NRH but i prefer the forum , whots others members think?

Yep it needs funding from somewhere and that's where we went wrong with the digs. We were to honest all money went to the farmers. We should of held some back for running costs. All money from the raffles went to various charities. Anyone else want to add where we went wrong?

whots done is done mark, but i think in order to survive we need to be doing something now to raise a bit of cashti keep going. i know times are hard for some fuel food prices etc but if we could raise a few quid each week it would cover it, it needs somebody to take it on if there is such a person on the forum?

Bri I wish we could go back to how it was 3 to 4 year's ago. We achieved some great things, had great digs, made some nice finds, raised money for charity. Donated Easter eggs to charity, sent money and other items to India, to name but a few. Also met some great people and made Alot of friends. I honestly think it'll all just be memories soon.

When I joined years ago , cannot remember when ,it was a flourishing forum everyone helped me and my son out when we first started .
We enjoyed the digs and posted finds if we found any .
Met great people and made good friends , it would be a shame if it didn't go on .
I still go out detecting and if I have anything decent to post , which ever group it is with , I will post it for people's interest.
My recent post about setting up my equinox give me plenty of replys and help from various people.

Hi, not been on for some time; due to one Thing or another, to be honest not done a lot of detecting since 2020! I should get On here more really!! I remember years ago when I joined this forum was a hive of info, help and knowledge. Love it posting, getting opinions and advice!! Gradually went down hill with the disappearance of the mods and the lack of forum, community spirit! Opening digs upto FB randoms didn’t help, creating the organisers unnecessary back lash an negativity to deal with. Not what organisers do it for or need. Should have stayed as a relic hunters community. @thornbird34 is right in saying funds should have been sourced from digs for the forum running cost man!!
It cud get back to how it was maybe with a bit promotion, push on social media and maybe a new admin team with interest an new ideas yo make it work!

I’m guilty of not posting much for the last year or so.
I seem to have lost my detecting mojo, I can’t seem to motivate myself to go.
I did have a look out two weeks ago but found nowt but junk and packed up early.
I’m also into loads of other stuff, astrophotography, photography, gym, swimming, walking and two gorgeous Granddaughters, one two and a half, the other ten months.
At the moment I just want to get out on a mountain in the Lakes in my tent but it’s a bit too cold for me just yet (getting soft) and I’m also doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks in June to raise money for Combat Stress with some of my mates from the Army.
I think once that’s out of the way I’ll be ready to do some detecting come harvest time so might get to posting again.
I do have one field to look forward to after harvest, ever since I’ve had permission to detect it it’s been in maize and detecting maize stubble is a thankless task although we did I find some Styca’s and Roman stuff. This year he’s put wheat in it so for once we’ll be able to give it a good going over.

Hey, @Bob T Hope u well. Bin a while, think we are guilty of finding other hobbies pastimes in lock down and covid! I’m similar r got into walking, hiking an eating healthy to shift a bit weight and now have a home gym and im a member of a gym work out / exercise 5/6 times a week. Plus Walk on an evening getting the steps in. Difficult when Working 8-5! But u get hooked the Gyms like my second home now. Actually Enjoy it!
However hopefully now the lighter longer days are here I can try get out a bit digging still a great hobbie I enjoy! Prove to me dad that his new nokta legend is a numb machine!
