We haven’t lost the permission, just haven’t had the time to arrange any.

I don’t have any time to arrange anything at the minute as I’m currently getting a house extension and every weekend we are just ploughing away trying to get the house back to normal.
anyone else wants to arrange a get together, it would be great.

It‘s the wrong time of the year, once harvest has been and so long as the Covid rules don’t change I can probably organise one, maybe on the Air Ambulance Field again.

Pasture is been cut as we speak quite sure pasture fields was mentioned on the farm where the ring was found if Foci could make a phone call to get a date/pass the farmers number onto someone willing to do the rest all it needs is someone to take the bull by the horns.

I wasnt around when you used to have digs what happened to them why have they stopped Wayne ?.
All I can say about our digs, is there were the best around. 100% of all money collected went to the farmer and the raffles/ dominoe card made Alot of money for various charities. Not forgetting the collection of Easter eggs. All done with a great bunch of lads and lasses. Plus loads of great finds. Hope we do manage to get them up and running again soon.

Hardest part about sorting a dig out is getting permission considering permission is already granted its a walk in the park,

Hello Mr farmer its Bill from NRH hope all is well we are hoping to organise another dig and was wondering what date would be convenient and how much land is available please, thats it done.

The numbers are growing fast as they realise the money thats being made.
Farmers likewise are blocking out the singletons detectorists for a wad of tax free cash.
Fortunately round here they are being seen and being not welcome on the local farms but one took the Kings Shilling preCovid and regretted it.
I lost my best permission to one big organiser who had the farmer sign a Contract saying no-one else allowed and that was it. Upshot was three Saxon gold coins found and not declared so they are not welcomed back as a result. I still cant get back on there :(
This organisation still runs big digs around the country upsetting the local detctorists wherever they go but big business and big profits.
Look at this weekend with DetectEvil down my way taken out hundreds of acres of prime land in the Thames Valley where the local guys don't get a look-in as they cant complete with the wads of cash offered to Landowners :(
I will be interested as to where actually this event will be held as there is a lot of our old Club land round there where our Club detected for years and they are saying another 200 acres of undetected land

Digs wont ever effect me Mal without going into too much detail the land i detect is all over the history books and no one but me has ever been able to gain permission no doubt many people and clubs have tried but failed and i am quite sure that's the way it will stay,

My land is hawked to death though but they dont get everything,

I guess digs serve a purpose for those who cant get off their backside and knock on a door, but digs have ruined the hobby for many and will continue to ruin it for many more.

Anyone seeking permission dont go to this farm :D

Yes and I’ve heard the back story, they had assaulted the farmer so no wonder he was pissed off. When the Police turned up the yobs kicked off with them and wouldn’t cooperate but the farmer may still be charged with something.
A YouTube farmer I follow, Ollyblogs, has said if necessary he’ll start a crowd funding campaign to help the farmer and I’ve said I’d chip in.

Money talks for most people, it’s that simple.
I’m fortunate like Lee, most of mine won’t entertain digs and one that did kicked them off four years ago after they held a dig and failed to pay him. Best of it was they rang him up last year and asked to go back, I can’t say on the Forum what he told them but the last word was “off”.
