i seem to have a rat prob, over last two weeks seen one or two coming out from under shed running in garden, bought two rat traps from screwfix with some wax cubes poison, set the traps with poison nothing set traps with choco nothing, also set with bacon rind nothing, the bait was tied on the traps, take a lot of springing mind i found this out when swopping baits, so anybody got any ideas, also tried peanut butter but they just lick it orf tried shooting them but there too bloody quick:( https://www.screwfix.com/p/pest-stop-easy-setting-metal-rat-traps-2-pack/77063

We had them on the farm and only shooting and spearing with pitchforks was only sure way. You have to keep disturbing them and their nests.
Don’t use poison as it kills other wildlife like foxes, raptors and birds of prey as well when they eat the dying or dead rats.

Bri If you can get your hands on some old fashioned creosote spray it under your shed the rats will soon scarper they detest the fumes, when I was working on the farm we would catch a live rat in a cage trap and dip it in tar and let it free down a rat hole the whole rat population vacated in seconds.
Before you bait the trap pour a kettle of boiling water over it to get rid of human smell. See if you can get a bar of Snickers and bait the trap with a lump they love it.

cheers randy i have some creocote similar to creosote, not seen them now for a couple of days but ill try the snickers thing
