Your post is rather incoherent . . . this is your third since you joined in 2017. Why not tell us what you've done since then? At least you have gained permission to search. Have you now got your own detector and insurance? Show some of your finds made in the last two years . . . we'd love to see them. You say that you are more familiar with groups on Faceache - why not ask whatever you want to know on there? Sorry, I can't help you.

the first year mate i never done any digs as was waiting on surgery, what was incoherent? i have been chasing permission around different areas but keep hearing clarke has felton area??, i have only found 3 finds of history my first was edwardian hat buckle, then my first coin was this denarius, and a cute Naval sweetheart broach, Although i love finding buckles lol, got to admit some like musket balls i'm a buckle man, and yeah NCMD and i'm a safari user and occasionally a fisher f44 as i find it fun to change sometimes, so does anyone know of areas to pretty much ignore? thanks

You joined in 2017, which hardly makes you a new member. I joined some time ago, and have never attended a FORUM dig, nor ever will in all probability, but then I did not join to get onto land. Now, I am not saying you did, but three posts in two years doesn't really show much interest in the forum "your lordship"
If you were to log in regularly, and post regularly, you would see when a fellow member is putting on a dig for those members interested.

I don't wish to offend you, or anyone else, but, NRH relies on its members to keep it running, having to rely on the FEW regular posters cannot be enough to guarantee that it will be able to continue into the distant future. Do yourself, and the rest on here and post more often, even commenting of other peoples finds counts. Write something telling us about yourself, and your detecting/life experiences, it will help us to get to know you, and maybe help you.

Good hunting.

Any area where there is occupation now, has probably been occupied long into the past. Just about every field you see will have footpaths on them, they didn't just appear, the indicate occupation. If you are on high ground, look in one direction for a church, do a complete turn around, and look in the opposite direction for another church. Then glance at the fields along the line which would connect the two churches. That would be an old footpath trodden for centuries, when folk used to travel from place to place for their worship, usually village to village, and are good search areas.
